Dr. Robb Kelly is an addiction expert, mental illness recovery specialist, author of Daddy, Daddy Please Stop Drinking, and the CEO of the Robb Kelly Recovery Group. For the past 20 years, he has helped addicts and alcoholics recover from addiction by treating the underlying problem, not just the symptoms. His direct, no-nonsense approach to treatment has earned him the nickname “The Gordon Ramsay of the Addiction World.” Dr. Kelly uses his clinical knowledge and his personal experiences with recovering from addiction to help thousands of people. He frequently gives lectures at universities and hospitals and is an accomplished musician who has played bass with Queen, David Bowie, and Elton John.
Today, Robb joins me to share the story of his history with addiction and how his personal experiences allow him to help others. He offers inspirational words of wisdom on overcoming setbacks, using adversity to become a stronger person, and achieving your goals. He discusses the root causes of addiction and how traditional approaches to addiction treatment fail to address the underlying issues. Robb describes the modalities he uses to help addicts recover from addiction, including NLP and somatic experiences. He also shares his routines for staying healthy and the three key things to focus on to keep your mind resilient.
“Once we visualize something strong enough, then we can hold that in our hand and that we are capable of much, much more than we think.”
